Can You Add Water To A Dry Battery?
No. Dry batteries can’t take on any water, so you can’t put more water into a battery that has already used up its supply.
Once your battery has run out of water, it should be replaced or recharged by another device. After recharging it, you can however decide to add distilled water, but it should only be done after charging with a recommended charger.

You will find out very quickly that you can’t do it, and there are very good reasons why you can’t.
Batteries have vents to allow gas and liquid-filled electrolytes to move in and out as needed. In most cases, these vents are covered with a sealant, which prevents gas from escaping.
Once you’ve filled your battery with water, two things happen. First, any excess moisture will run out of your battery’s vents.
As it does so, some of your electrolytes will be left behind inside your battery. It will mix with whatever water you added and turn into a sort of brine that is not only useless but inhibits battery function as well.
Second, you will no longer be able to open your battery. Since water and electricity don’t mix well, your battery must be completely dry before you seal it shut. If any moisture remains inside once you’ve sealed your battery, your device won’t work as intended and can even become dangerous to operate.
